Surprises on the Radio
I was told to listen to Joni and Friends tonight on our Christian radio station because someone I know was going to be interviewed. I had to jump through a few hoops, but I finally got to listen on the interweb. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was my friend Nick Vujicic (it’s sort of pronounced “vooy-cheech”)!
I haven’t seen Nick in a few years, but his life as his testimony still is as vivid to me as when I met him. You can read all about him at his website, but I’ll give you a short rundown. Nick was born without arms or legs, but he has one of the most moving testimonies of Christ’s love that I have ever heard. Nick’s passion for spreading the Gospel vastly outweighs that of anyone else I know. He is such an amazing young man. I hope you get to meet him someday.

Passport
I found out today that my passport was completed this afternoon and should be arriving within a couple days. The NEXT DAY I have to send my Visa application out and pray that it gets finished soon. Andrew and David have been waiting for theirs for a few weeks already. I thought Visas were supposed to only take a couple days!

Intro
On August 4, 2005, I leave for a two week trip to Brazil. I have felt called of God to go to an orphanage called Canaan Land Ministries (CLM) for a few years and finally have taken the opportunity to go. I hope to document most of it, but I don’t know how much live documenting there will be down there.
CLM is located in the state of Parana in the southern part of Brazil. It’s in the colony called Entre Rios near the city of Guarapuava, about 3/4 of the way down in the center of Parana. Check out this cool Google satellite image of it! You can click and drag it and stuff.
The point of the trip has many folds. For one, our team will be working on building furniture for the new CLM Turvo, which is about an hour north of CLM Entre Rios. Along with that, we will get to minister to the kids through Bible studies, games, and just good ol’ fun times. We will also be providing a help to the staff at CLM, and hopefully we can be a great blessing to them.
Please pray for me as I go on this adventure. It’s as much a spiritual journey as it is a physical one. When I think of how God can use me there, what He can teach me, and how much He can really affect my heart, it overwhelms me almost to the point of tears. I have no doubt that I can’t even picture how I will be changed by God while I’m down there. When I get back, I’m sure I will have hundreds of photos and possibly some video as well, and I will be sure to post it all.
A couple of the ladies in the team have gone before and put together this cute video. It’s a small idea of the kind of kids we’ll be working with. Give it a watch, but be aware that the thing is huge (18mb!) so be prepared for a long download, unless you’re on high speed.
July 4th
We had it again…the annual Freund Family 4th of July Extrrravaganzaaaa! There was fun, good times, water, sun, and fireworks. Plus we got to see Megan for the first time. She’s cute. Anyway, you can see photos if you visit my flickr page
