Yesterday I went to Jenny Lynn’s concert at VCU. Afterwards, a few of us gathered at a restaurant for some late-nite goodies. Not wanting much (but ending up getting a slice of their amazing broccoli pizza), I ordered a coffee, as I am wont to do.
When my coffee came and I began to add the creamer, what, to my surprise, did I see? If you haven’t guessed it yet, the creamer was from Byrne Dairy, which some of you may recognize as my first real job. I worked there for about 3 years while I was in college. What surprised me is that Byrne is a dairy in New York, and ONLY New York, and last I checked I was in Virginia last night. I have a lot of fun memories from working there (getting up at 4am takes some getting used to, but being done with work by 1pm, 9:30am on the really good days, is excellent). Maybe that’s why I was so happy. I mean, this really made my night! And I’m still talking about it!
Good ol’ Byrne Dairy. I gotta go back and get me some of that mint milk. Seriously the best milk I ever tasted is from Byrne (gotta be in the glass bottles). If you’re ever in New York state, find yourself a Byrne Dairy and get some. And one of those yummy cookie ice cream sandwiches.
