I’ve always wanted to be a music producer. When I started trying to cut my own CD, I realized how fun it would be to make CDs with people. I love making music sound good, even though I find it difficult to do on my own.
Last night I was helping my friend Katie record a piano CD for her family (I hope I’m not spoiling anything…). We laid down about 20 tracks in a couple hours, and she wanted to redo “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”. Then she asked me if I would sing it. I don’t really like how my voice sounds outside of my head, so I hesitated, but in the end I agreed to do it. It sounds pretty good for a bunch of amateurs, I think. Her mom actually did the recording and mixing because I couldn’t sing and mix at the same time. There are some things I’d like to change about it, but whatever.
