It’s Been Too Long
I haven’t written in a while. My bad, y’all.
Things have slowed down considerably at work today. I finished my tasks all before 11am. Things trickle in here and there, but nothing has taken more than a few minutes. I’ve had some time to catch up on some blogs I used to read when I wasn’t so busy. I started with Karen’s, and I realized I have a lot to read. Unfortunately, I’m beginning to miss Paraguay terribly.
I spent some time with the Kochs in Syracuse this past weekend when Steven and I went skiing. Melissa wanted us to come over so we could eat empanadas and talk about our respective trips to Paraguay. It’s really fun sharing amazing experiences with people when they know precisely what you’re talking about. I saw many of the emotions and revelations and spiritual experiences in their stories that exist in mine. Melissa particularly. She and I had eerily similar reactions to our trips. When we went skiing, we took Brian’s thermos and guampa filled with some yerba so we could take the occasional break from the cold and take in the warmth of memories via a nutritious green tea. We might have looked like stoners, but I don’t think we cared.
This could be a big year for me regarding cross-cultural trips. Mom is in Germany on goji business, and I really want to go visit. I’ve never been to Europe, but I already have some friends (with whom I have never spoken) who want to take me around to the Black Sea and castles and stuff. I also want to head back to Paraguay for Christmas/New Years (maybe after Christmas so my family doesn’t get sad). I would need money and time off. We shall see.
I’m going to go read some more.
