Activities
Steven’s been here for almost two weeks now, and we are only now beginning to get rest. The Canadian group got here this past Sunday, so we’ve been spending a lot of time with them. On Monday we went to one of our church outreaches in a neighborhood ironically called Bañado with the 12th grade class to teach the kids about hygiene, was their hair, and treat them for lice. It was a really cool time, and I made a new friend. I need to go back and see her sometime.
After that, we all went into the city to exchange money and pick up a few souvenirs. I had fun translating for them with the street vendors, but I didn’t learn soon enough that I can possibly get free swag for bringing them the business. The boys got their tereré gear and I tried showing them how to use it in the evening. I think they’re all set for bringing the tradition back to Canada (or Michigan).
On Tuesday we packed into either a small bus or large van, but when you’re 14 oversized men, it’s not a lot of space. We drove 6 hours, leaving at 4am, towards Iguacu Falls. We arrived around lunch time but went straight to the falls fall drip. It’s been so dry down in these parts that there was barely anything to speak of. It’s still pretty impressive, but not nearly as much as it has been in the past. I think this year Niagra might have it beat.
On Wednesday, Steven, Oscar, and I went into the city to buy computers. We lucked out and managed to get three complete systems with monitors, tables, and printers for well under budget. That leaves more money for building!
Hopefully this week they’ll be able to work on the school. The sun finally came out today, and it’s allegedly supposed to stay out. Please pray for that.

I have visitors!
I haven’t posted in a while, and I’ll save a detailed one for next time, but I just wanted to let anyone who cares know that Steven got here safely a week ago, and now we have 7 other guys from churches in Canada and the US here to do some building at the school while we’re on vacation. We’ve already had some fun adventures, which you’ll hopefully read about later.
Come back and see us!
