Things I want in my Garden

Posted by admin on Jun 10 2010 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Vegetables by Martin CathraeVeggies:

  • carrots
  • onions
  • peppers, hot and sweet
  • cucumbers
  • summer squash, green and yellow
  • snaps (green beans, for you northerners)
  • tomatoes
  • lettuce
  • spinach
Herbs:

  • oregano
  • basil
  • rosemary (mmmmmmmmm…)
  • mint
  • thyme
Fruit:

  • raspberries
  • strawberries
  • pineapples
  • lemons
  • tangerines

The stretches will be the pineapple, lemon, and tangerine. I have a lemon tree growing but it will be a few years before it starts budding I think. I also have a pineapple started (I had three growing for almost two years (they take two and a half) before going to Paraguay, and they got left at my house and died in the winter). My big question is how much space will all this take? I am going to take a page out of the Shurance book of gardening and keep my hot peppers in a pot and bring them in at the end of the season. I’m told they last a while that way. Almost everything will be my first attempt, but I think Kathy and I might like tending a garden. This year’s job is deciding where to put it and preparing the soil.

If you life in Richmond, and things go well, I might have some veggies for you next year.

Redoing Stuff

Posted by admin on Jun 19 2006 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

There are a few times where I give opportunity for someone else to redo something in my house. I call it generosity, others may call it free consultation. Tomaytoes, tomahtoes. Regardless, I’m looking for a new bed set. What I want is something not blue and not boring. If you need me to get specific, my bed’s a full. We’ll start with a sheet set, but bonus points if you include a light quilt or blanket (after all, it’s summer now). Mega bonus if it has a matching window treatment.

If it matters, my bedroom is currently tan, although I have recently begun thinking about changing it.

Ready…set…go!

I’m Becoming a Homemaker

Posted by admin on Oct 11 2005 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

First, I decided to finally use this site like it was supposed to be used. So, my dear readers, prepare to be bored. All one of me.

Now on to the entry. Being a homeowner, I have to learn to become a homemaker. First order of business: I need to buy a bed set. I need a duvet, comforter, and maybe some shams. Speaking of which, what is the purpose of a sham? If you ask me, their name says it all: it’s a pillow that you can’t use, therefore it’s a sham, an imposter, a mockery of my tired and weary head! But that’s just me.

I started thinking about these pillows, or maybe these. But I decided against it. I did, however, pick this up.

In 5 to 10 business days we’ll see if it works in my room. If not, I can take it back.

Next: nightstand.
