Your website is an investment. What kind of return is it giving you?
If you don’t have a website that’s actually working for you, like an employee, giving you a return on the investment you made in it, you might as well not have a website at all.

With a website
If you do have a website, is it working for you? There’s only one reason to have a website: to get new customers and keep existing ones. How you use your website for those purposes depends on your market.
Most businesses with websites use them pretty much to talk about themselves. Even when you love someone, doesn’t it get boring after a while if they only talk about themselves? You have to focus on your customer, and you have to make it absolutely clear what you want from them on your website.
If your website isn’t vistor-focused and converting those visitors into customers, it’s broken.

Without a website
If you don’t have a website, you’re missing an incredible amount of opportunity. Nearly 80% of all Americans use the internet. Wouldn’t you like the attention of such a large group of people?
Think of this: when you need some product or service you don’t have, where do you go to look for it? Chances are you use Google or Bing to find the place that can help you out.
Without a website, no one who needs you will find you online.
